ALLOO NETWORK BUSINESS PLAN

Revitalizing the Alloo Website: Documenting our Roots, Connecting our Family

Suggested Plan

Overall Objective:

Revitalize and Revamp the Alloo website as a repository for family history, communication, interviews, and photos

Background:

The Alloo.net site was created by Murtaza Jaffer Alloo and maintained by Fatema Ahmed Alloo. It currently houses family trees, photos, and history and has been in operation for several years. We are now looking to revamp the site and build upon the initial efforts to capture and store our family history so as to help maintain the Alloo legacy.

What are the goals of this project?

Documenting Alloo family history, allowing the site to become a repository for future generations of the Alloo family to learn about their roots Connecting the large, global Alloo family, helping maintain family ties and celebrating family member’s current milestones and accomplishments

How do we plan to achieve these goals?

Crowd source Family History to encourage sustainable, up-to-date information
Allow family members to easily update their individual family trees and information on the site Encourage family members to collect and upload old pictures, documents, family anecdotes, interviews and letters Note: The crowd-sourcing approach will allow family members to upload historical and other information themselves. Crowd sourcing information is critical for sustainability, especially as the Alloo family grows. No one person can successfully keep track and update all the information. Crowd sourcing makes the system scalable.
Use the Alloo.net website as an initial platform for achieving our goals, leveraging existing technologies and platforms as much as possible. Data Security is a major issue. Full consent needs to be obtained before adding ANY family members. Create platforms to help the Alloo family stay easily connected socially and professionally Leverage existing social platforms such as Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, Whats App Encourage sharing of family milestones (engagements, marriages, birth, family events, children), professional milestones (new jobs, graduations, promotions, job change, etc.) and well wishes, etc.
